THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!

As you may have already known, Sunday was a holiday. No matter what religion you are, the only one that mattered was the church of BASEBALL! OPENING DAY 2010 was upon us, and in what better way to start a season than with the Boston Red Sox taking on the defending World Champion New York Yankees at Fenway Park in Boston. The game was fantastic, especially because the Red Sox won 9-7. The game had numerous celebrity sightings, such as Dr. Dre, Lebron James, Jimmy Iovine, (all plugging Dre Beats headphones Red Sox edition), Neil Diamond, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Keri Hilson, and PEDRO MARTINEZ EVEN THREW OUT THE FIRST PITCH! Not much is better than Opening Night baseball!

Aside from the star studded crowd at Fenway, there was even more swag on the field. Yankees starting pitcher and world's fattest baseball player C.C. Sabathia was sportin some HEAT on the field.
In the 1st and 2nd innings, Sabathia was wearing Cool Gray Jordan XI's as seen here

but after the 2nd inning changed into black Jordan IV's

I believe the Yankees organization made C.C. change his cleats because they have a black cleat policy, where every player has to have predominantly black cleats as part of the uniform.

C.C. wasnt the only one sporting some fire on his feet. Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was wearing his new signature New Balance 1100's in Red Sox red camouflage. Pedroia also went deep for the second straight Opening Day.

Yankees Captain and shortstop Derek Jeter also wore his latest signature gear/batting gloves in the game.

Also in baseball news, Atlanta Braves rookie/phenom Jason Heyward went deep in his first Major League Baseball at bat. Heyward, who is in my opinion the next Ken Griffey Jr except without the injuries (aka the best ever) is going to carry the Braves to the promised land (playoffs) this year. IM CALLING IT! Dude's 1st pro at bat and he jacks a 3-run bomb...need i say more?

St. Louis Cardinal 1st baseman Albert Pujols is already playing his way to another MVP title. Pujols drops BOMBS and plays a mean 1b. dude has 2 homers already. THEYVE ONLY PLAYED ONE GAME!

BY FAR, the best play of the day, and very well may be the best play of the YEAR, is this: Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle.

Also Nelson Cruz of the Texas Rangers hit an opposite field home run off a pitch that was low and outside. Cruz flicked his wrists and cranked one out farther than most players that swing as hard as they can. DUDE IS A STUD, WATCH HIM. HES GOING TO HAVE A MONSTER SEASON. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

One down, 161 more to go. LET THE SEASON BEGIN!
