dark day on the diamond

as you may have heard, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart and 2 others were killed in a car crash the other day. besides the fact that a 22 year old baseball player with his entire career ahead of him, the fact that he was killed by a drunk driver, yes DRUNK DRIVER, makes this story even more of a heartbreaker. many children grow up having the dream to become a professional baseball player, and Adenhart was no different. he grew up wanting to play pro ball, and he achieved that dream. little after he got called up to the bigs, was his season, and life, cut short.
maybe its because i play baseball, im close to the age of 22, and i hate drinking and driving that this story strikes me so hard, but whatever it is, this is just one of the many reasons to not drink and drive. we all make stupid mistakes, but getting behind the wheel while intoxicated is the worst thing you may do in your, or someone else's lifetime.

my prayers go out to the Adenhart family as well as the families of the 2 others slain in the accident.
