anyways, SO MUCH has happened in the sporting world in the past few days, and i will get to that as well as other interesting topics in this uber long post. so lets get down to business...
First off, FOOTBALL STARTED. As you may already know, i am not a Patriots fan even though i live in Massachusetts. I am a New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks fan. even though i do not like the Pats, i went to the opener vs. the Buffalo Bills, who i was almost rooting for just because i like Terrell Owens. This game was one of the best sporting events i have ever been to, up there with Red Sox World Series games and Celtics/Bruins Playoff games. The Bills were owning the Pats on offense, because well, the New England defense is abysmal this year. With two minutes left, and the Bills up 11, i decided to leave. I got to the beginning of the exit ramp and the Pats got the ball back...little did i know this was the beginning of one of the best 4th quarters in Patriots history. By the time i got to the street level of the stadium, i hear barbaric screams from the crowd..clearly i missed something big. What i missed was the Pats getting the ball back and scoring. by the time i got to the car, the Pats had the lead. Never have i ever regretted so much when i got to my car and heard the announcer going wild with the Pats having the lead. seeing as this was week 1, im sure you all know the details of how it happened so i will spare you the old news. My Giants won in week 1 as well, taking down the Washington Redskins.

The best part of the Monday Night game was the throwback jerseys the Bills/Pats wore. Although Jay-z is all "fuck a throwback cus we on to the next one", these jerseys are wicked tight and should be used instead of the regular ones the Pats wear. Patriot Pat is whats up!
in Week 2...
The Patriots lost to the NY Jets! after a week of trash talking, the Jets D actually did what they said they were going to, shut down the Pats. Still not having allowed an offensive touchdown, the Jets allowed the Pats to score 3 field goals and that was it. Mark Sanchez (seen below) was on point and parading himself around like he is Broadway Joe or some nonsense. Even though the Jets beat the Pats, and i dont like the Pats at all, Sanchez shouldnt be walking around like he won the Superbowl...its the depleted Patriots defense that was the reason you won.

The Giants won in big D! the home opener and 1st game at the new '8th wonder of the world' Cowboys Stadium was spoiled by the G MEN as they put on an impressive 2 minute drill in the last of the 4th quarter to win the game. it was Eli Manning's 12th 4th quarter comeback, which is the 3rd most in the NFL since 2004. Mario Manningham stepped up HUGE and was Eli's favorite target on the night. The Giants D also had 2 pick 6's, but one was called the interception (after the ball was dropped and kicked into the arms of the defender by Cowboys TE Jason Witten) because of the whistle being blown. The Gmen scored on that drive anyways, so it did not matter so much. This game had everything, 2 good offenses, 1 stellar defense and 1 ok one (cowboys), Cowboys cheerleaders(they still got it!), circus catches for touchdowns, and a field goal to win it. Giants are looking strong, heads up NFC!

The Seahawks lost their game this week to the San Francisco 49ers..sadly. Even worse than the loss, is the loss of their QB and my 2nd favorite player Matt Hasselback. Matt, who was hit hard, is listed with a broken rib, and is doubtful for the start next week. Tsk, Tsk. Atleast Seneca Wallace is their backup and is basically a Mike Vick without the cannon of an arm.
In college football...America's Team, THE University of Miami is now ranked NUMBER 9 BABY!!!! THE U IS BACK!!!!! Led by QB Jacory Harris, the U is bound to run the table and win the ACC. The only question in my mind is "WHEN ARE WE GONNA BEAT FLORIDA!". Miami has taken down a tough Virginia Tech team and recently beat Georgia Tech which propelled them to their number 9 spot. you can pretty much give the ACC to the U now, because noone is going to stop this team. THIS IS THE U's RETURN TO GLORY!!

On to the baseball diamond, where the Boston Red Sox are only 5 games back of catching the New York Yankees for the AL East lead, and are 8 up on the Texas Rangers for the AL Wild Card spot. Almost locked for the playoffs, the Sox can take the East in a crucial series vs the Bronx Bombers, which would set the playoffs up great for them. The Sox would play the Central, if they win the east, which would leave the Yankees to fight the Angels. This would knock either one of those two teams out, and if its the Yankees it would be a tough battle but the Sox seem to have the Angels number so either way, it benefits the Sox. The Sox open up a series tonight against the lowly KC Royals while the Yankees are facing off with the Angels, which has huge playoff implications for both teams.
in hockey news, the Boston Bruins have traded their star Phil Kessel to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a first- and second-round pick in the 2010 draft, plus a first-round pick in the 2011 draft. Kessel signed a five-year, $27 million deal with the Leafs.

Kessel, who is only 21, scored 36 goals in 70 games last year for the B's.
now, aside from sports. lets get in to some music.
I have purchased 2 new cd's in the past week; Jay-z's Blueprint 3 and KiD CuDi's Man on the Mood:The End of Day. sit back and relax as i break them both down.
im going to rate these cd's from 1-10, 1 being the absolute worst and 10 being a perfect cd (in my case, my perfect cd is KanYe West's Graduation) so base it on that.
Jay-Z - Blueprint 3
score- 9.5
Jay-Z's BP3 is a masterpiece, simply put. The big singles off of this album so far are "D.O.A (Death of Autotune)", "Run This Town feat. Rihanna and KanYe West" and "Empire State of Mind feat. Alicia Keys", which all are straight bangers. With contributions by artists such as Young Jeezy, Swizz Beats, Drake, KiD CuDi, J.Cole, Pharrell, and Mr. Hudson, this album is nothing short of perfection. Every song has Hova going on about his new "grown up" image. Lines such as "used to rock a throwback, ballin on the corner. now im rocking tailored suits looking like the owner" (from "On To The Next One") and "oversized clothes and chains, we off that" (from "Off That") show that Hova is clearly getting his grown man on.Jay calls out Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh in his song "Off That", so even if you don't like Jay-Z its worth it to check it out for shock value. I mean, cmon, its Jay-Z...Mr. Big Pimpin, Mr. Dirt off ya shoulder, Mr. 99 problems but a bitch aint one!You cant go wrong with HOVA. This album is great, a must purchase for rap fans. (im going to his concert in Providence October 24th!)

KiD CuDi - Man On The Moon:The End of Day
score - 8
KiD CuDi is not just "that Day n Nite guy", he is actually a really gifted rapper/singer...The only thing is, he sings about very very very sad things. CuDi's cd is narrated by Common, and tells the story of Scott Mescudi (KiD CuDi's real name) and his life. Scott's album is filled with numerous insanely creative lines and intricate beats, but the lines are thrown in and almost hidden in such morbidly depressing songs that will most likely send the listener in a negative direction. If there is such a thing as bad mood music, KiD CuDi is that. Songs such as "Soundtrack 2 My Life", "Cudi Zone", "Simple As..", "Sky Might Fall", and "Alive" are all stellar, but all have depressing lyrics to them. Given the fact that Scott's story is definitely not a happy one, having your debut album set off a negative vibe may not be the best marketing but im sure G.O.O.D music knows what they are doing (that is KanYe's label by the way). This album features MGMT and Ratatat frequently, which if you are familiar with their music is almost techno/electric rock. The genre of CuDi's album is listed as Experimental Rap on Amazon, so it is most definitely something to check out. His huge stoner-anthem single "Day n Nite" is on the album, so you have 1 song you will know prior to purchase. If you do not want to listen to the sad side of KiD CuDi, check out his free mixtapes online such as "10 Deep presents KiD CuDi: Dat Kid From Cleveland" and "Plain Pat & Emile present: A Kid Named CuDi". His mixtapes are much more upbeat and positive than his debut album is, but for sad music it is still great lyrically and the beats are on point with the theme.
