lawlz Tila Tequila

well now, a bunch of sports happenings went down over the past few days, and without further adieu, here we go.

The Patriots have sent one of their most beloved players to the abysmal Oakland Raiders. DL Richard Seymour is now a member of Oakland's awful football team, which means semi-decent returns for the Pats. Seymour is exchanged for a 2011 first round draft pick, which may overall end up being the number 1 overall pick seeing as the Raiders blow something awful. Big Sey is set for a payday of $3.685 million, not bad for a 30 year old defensive lineman.

Even though i am not a Pats fan, its sad seeing a long time New England hero go from the best organization to the 2nd worst in the league...tsk tsk. Business is business.

Also in the world of football, Shawne "I'm famous on Twitter" Merriman was arrested yesterday for allegedly choking the living shit out of his girlfriend/alien species Tila Tequila. Yes, that bisexual rat-looking hornball is Merriman's girlfriend. Clearly Shawne found his shot at love, got too drunk from it and got violent. No wonder "Lights Out" wasn't tweeting. Although domestic violence is an awful crime and should not be ok, it is Tila Tequila we are talking about..."nbd" as the kids would say. He was quoted saying that he only restrained her because she did not want her to leave in her incredibly intoxicated state. Wow! Go figure, Tila TEQUILA drinks?!

This alien-looking thing...is known as Tila Tequila, real name Tila Nguyen.

Merriman, seen above being a prick and doing his "lights out" dance, may be in some trouble but most likely not because it was his 1st offense and it was only a citizen's arrest.

On to the baseball field, where Seattle Mariners' own Asian Sensation Ichiro Suzuki has become the 2nd fastest ever to 2,000 hits. Suzuki also only needs 5 more hits to have his 10th consecutive season of 200 hits or more, passing Willie Keeler who had 9 consecutive. Ichiro has 1,278 hits in Japan, and has now hit his 2000th hit in his 1402th game in Major League Baseball. Ichiro was quoted last week in Sports Illustrated as saying "Chicks who dig home runs aren't the ones who appeal to me. I think there's sexiness in infield hits because they require technique. I'd rather impress the chicks with my technique than with my brute strength. Then, every now and then, just to show I can do that, too, I might flirt a little by hitting one out.". Ichiro has locked his position as one of my all time favorite players after that quote.

Also in baseball, we have a confirmation - Prince Fielder is a douchebag. Fielder, who is a great slugger, hit a walk off homerun on the yesterday vs. the Giants, and did a clearly planned out celebration at the plate involving his team. I am ok with homerun celebrations, especially ones that involve the team. I think that it is great that you can have visible camaraderie with your teammates but what makes me mad, is that Fielder untucked his jersey in his path around the bases. Under no circumstances should you ever do that. It is disrespectful to the other team, and shows your lack of respect to the game. Fielder, who grew up with the game of baseball running his life as his father Cecil played, should have more common sense than to do things like that.
Here is the video of his walkoff/jersey tuck/celebration:

The Brew Crew also turned a triple play in this game.

In basketball news, his Airness, number 23, the Greatest of All-Time, MICHAEL JORDAN is getting inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame this week. ABOUT DAMN TIME! 23 is the best thing that has ever happened to basketball (outside of Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, and Brian Scalabrini). I don't have all day to list all of MJ's accomplishments, but let's see..he was:

Just for the record, anytime you are a 6 time CHAMPION means you are doing something right. Not to mention he has one of the most successful clothing lines and sneaker company in Jordan. What other sneaker has people camping outside Footlockers days in advance for a Saturday morning drop of a new pair of kicks? Exactly. 23 is more than a person, he is a LEGEND.
